The short version
We collect a small amount of information when you use the A2C Career Assessment — your name, graduation year, and email address. Your student’s assessment answers stay in their browser and are never sent to us. We use your contact information to send you relevant information about college planning and our book. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. You can unsubscribe or request deletion of your information at any time.
1. Who We Are

2. What Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information through the A2C Career Assessment tool.
Information you provide to us
When you complete the intake form before taking the A2C Career Assessment, we collect:
• First name and last name
• High school graduation year
• Email address
• Your consent to receive communications from Admission2College (opt-in checkbox)
This is the only personal information we collect. We do not collect social security numbers, financial information, home addresses, phone numbers, health data, passwords, school records, or any other sensitive personal information.
Information that stays on your device
Your student’s responses to the 48 assessment questions are processed entirely in their web browser. These responses are used to calculate and display the Career Profile on screen. They are never transmitted to our servers, never stored in any database, and never accessible to us or anyone else. When the browser window is closed, the assessment responses are gone permanently.
The Career Profile results — your student’s RIASEC type, values, strengths, and career matches — are generated and displayed in the browser. If your student downloads a Career Profile PDF, that file is created on their device and saved locally. We do not receive or store a copy.
Automatically collected information
Like most websites, our hosting platform (Vercel) automatically collects basic usage data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This information is used for security and performance monitoring. It is governed by Vercel’s own privacy policy and is not linked to your personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide for the following purposes:
• Email communications — To send you relevant information about college planning, the A2C Career Assessment, and The College Search, Redefined
• Relevant updates — To notify you when new resources, tools, or content are available that are relevant to your student’s grade level and college search timeline
• Personalization — To personalize communications based on your student’s graduation year — for example, sending different information to families with ninth graders versus families with juniors
• Internal analytics — To understand how many students are using the assessment tool and improve our services over time
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to any third party. We do not share your information with colleges, universities, or educational institutions. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that affect you.
4. Who We Share Your Information With
We share your information with a limited number of service providers who help us operate our business. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
• Email service provider — Our email marketing platform (Mailchimp or ConvertKit) stores your name, graduation year, and email address and sends our communications on our behalf. These platforms maintain their own privacy policies and security certifications.
• Hosting platform — Vercel hosts the A2C Career Assessment tool and collects basic usage data as described above. Vercel’s privacy policy governs the information they collect.
We do not share your information with any other third parties. We will never sell your contact information. If we are ever required by law to disclose your information, we will notify you to the extent permitted by law.
5. Children’s Privacy
The A2C Career Assessment is designed for students age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal information through our tool, please contact us at [email address] and we will promptly delete that information from our records.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to complete the intake form on behalf of or together with their student. The email address provided will receive our communications, so we recommend using a parent or guardian’s email address where appropriate.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have meaningful control over your information.
• Unsubscribe at any time — Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from our list immediately and permanently.
• Access your information — You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email address]. We will respond within 30 days.
• Request deletion — You may request that we delete your personal information from our records by emailing [email address]. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.
• Correct your information — You may request that we correct inaccurate information by contacting us at [email address].
• California residents — California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Protection Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
• Other state residents — Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights. Contact us at [email address] to exercise any of these rights.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain your name, graduation year, and email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications. If you unsubscribe, your information is removed from our active list. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for internal analytics purposes after deletion.
Assessment responses are not retained at all — they exist only in the browser during the session and are permanently gone when the session ends.
8. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we collect.
• All data transmitted between your browser and our systems is encrypted using HTTPS, which is enforced automatically by our hosting platform.
• API credentials used to connect to our email service are stored securely as environment variables and are not exposed in our source code.
• The A2C Career Assessment’s client-side architecture means assessment responses never leave your student’s device, which eliminates the risk of those responses being intercepted or compromised in transit.
No method of data transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to using industry-standard practices to protect your information.
9. Third-Party Links
The A2C Career Assessment and admission2college.com may contain links to third-party websites, including the Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov), O*NET OnLine (onetonline.org), and others. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by Admission2College. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document and post the revised policy at admission2college.com/privacy. If we make material changes to how we collect or use your information, we will notify subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
